The Iranian embassy's details
are as follows:

When you call the number there
is a voice message saying that
embassy staff are available to
take phone calls between 12 and
2.30 on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. We tried dozens of
times but no one ever picked-up
and there was no way to leave a
message. I also sent a couple
of unanswered emails. Feeling
somewhat despondent after not
being able to establish contact
on Monday or Wednesday, we sent
a fax on Thursday and received a
phone call later that day. I
spoke to a helpful staff member
who gave me all the details and
documents needed to get visas
into passports.
- Passport
- x2 passport photos (headscarf
on for the ladies)
- x2 completed application forms
(not sure why two are required)
- Bank cheque, Fee for
Australians $102 AUD for French
$85 AUD
- Reply paid, self addressed,
return express post envelope
- The confirmation email from
iranianvisa.com
with details of the
authorisation
I sent all of the above on
Friday and received the
passports back the following
Friday.
Everything worked out fine
though I would recommend that
people planning to visit Iran
begin the process of applying
for visas AT LEAST 6 weeks
before departure.
